Database About the database |
The Phonothèque québécoise database is available to the general public and may be used to learn about our sound heritage or to identify specific documents that may be consulted on site.
The Phonothèque documentation centre is open to the public by appointment, by calling (514) 282-0703, or by email.
This database incorporates the following two databases:
BE Collections Database:
Detailed information about museum-related items (records and sleeves,
sound reproduction devices, posters, artefacts...). This database
contains 8500 items. The data in this database are linked to the Info-Muse network of the
Société des musées québécois (SMQ), which is affiliated with the
Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN), and adhere to the norms established by these bodies.
Docu Database: Detailed information about documentary items (monographs, periodicals, theses, files, unedited sound documents, air checks and copies, documents pertaining to our projects). This database contains 2000 items. A library-standard index has been created in order to facilitate research.
